I bought the car few days ago, when i moved the car oil spot was under the engine. under the engine the oil pan was covered with oil. Please let me know what is my first step to check. Thanks Roger
it uses oil all the time. everytime i check the oil its lower and lower. i didnt think buying a cadillac would be giving me problems. someone needs to do something.
started car with auto start, when i came out there was a large puddle of engine oil on the ground
Would loose a quart about every 1000 miles. To expensive to repair, one qt. of oil per 1000 miles was acceptable.
First I noticed some oil spray on the underbody at 65,000 miles, and after another 6 months started to get an identifiable drip. Later found out that this is a common problem with this engine.
Now it leaks a little more, but not excessively if the oil level is kept on the low side. Never did fix it, and haven't yet had the urge to pay for the repair or fix it myself ... ( it's only been 14 years ).
After the vehicle is parked it leaves a puddle of fresh oil on the ground. Not getting it fixed as its not worth the money.
