is the capacity of oil the same for a 94 as a 96XJ12?

Check your owners manual for the correct capacity. Or add as needed and check at dipstick. Should never just add quart after quart and assume will be correct if comparing to other vehicle and engine. Even the owners manual will tell you to add a certain amount and top off as needed when checking dipstick.
