What causes OBD-II fault code P0A5C?

The Generator Control Module is part of the Hybrid Inverter/Converter Assembly and is replaced as a unit. If the engine control module (PCM) detects an incorrect signal from the High Voltage Control Module, the PCM will set code P0A5C.
