Schedule Diagnosis

What causes OBD-II fault code P003A?

The Turbocharger Vane Control Solenoid controls the amount of boost produced by the turbocharger. Every time the key is cycled, the engine computer (PCM) runs a self-check to verify the Turbocharger Vane Control Solenoid and related sensors are working properly. The PCM will command the solenoid to fully open and close. If the PCM does not see the Turbocharger Vane Control Solenoid open and close as requested, the PCM assumes that the calibration has been lost or there is another fault with the turbocharger. Code P003A will set.A relearn procedure must be performed any time the Turbocharger or related components are repaired or replaced.
