OBD-II Code Decreased engine performance is defined as a "A" Camshaft Profile Control Circuit/Open

Newer engines have valves that are electro-hydraulically controlled. This improves fuel efficiency and engine performance. When the engine control module (PCM) detects that the valves are not being operated as desired, it will set code P001D.

  • Camshaft variable timing solenoid failure
  • Engine oil level is too low
  • The engine oil does not meet the manufacturer's requirements
