Ford Mustang dashboard gauges not functioning, fuses and cables intact on Ford Mustang

Problem overview

Some Ford Mustang owners report experiencing issues with dashboard gauges not functioning despite intact fuses and cables. These problems may indicate a malfunction with the illumination bulbs in the gauge cluster, resulting in no readings on factory gauges. Additionally, owners have noted that shorting wires during dashboard reinstallation can lead to the dash cluster, radio, and remote signal receiver failing to operate, even when the vehicle starts and runs normally. Some owners find that the Constant Voltage Regulator (CVR) only powers certain gauges, such as the fuel, temperature, and oil pressure gauges, meaning issues with other gauges might be unrelated to the CVR. Troubleshooting often involves checking Fuse 15 and Fuse 8, as well as ensuring good battery voltage, since speedometer functionality is linked to the car's velocity. Furthermore, some owners discover that internal corrosion or rust can cause poor connections within the gauges themselves.
