BMW 328i Problems

Noise From Top of Front/Rear Doors When Windows Are Fully Up on BMW 328i

Problem Description and Possible Solution

A creak or squeak can be heard from the top of the front or rear doors. This noise is most noticeable when the windows are fully up. The noise is caused by the decay of the flocking material on the door seals. New door seals, Teflon tape, special lube, or a combination of all of these may be needed to eliminate the noise.

In cold weather, the window glass would rub against the rubber gasket on the car body, producing a creaking/chirping sound. Dealer advised me to try cleaning the rubber gaskets, so I wiped them down with a soapy towel, then again with a wet towel, and allowed them to dry. Problem has not returned as of 62,000 miles.
