my dodge challenger wont start,it sounds like it wanna crank but my etc light on

I just had that problem with my 2012 challenger 3.6. Gotta admit that it was pretty frustrating at first since I just got the car lol. Not exactly sure why it did that at first since it happen when the guy in the stereo shop tried to move it. But anyways when i tried turning the car on , it was cranking but wouldn't start also notice that a red light was blinking on the dash. So what I did was really simple and figure it out in a hour lol. Get in the car with the keyless key of course then just press the start button but dont try to start the car just turn it on (STEREO) wait one minute then turn in off. After that wait one minute then you should be able to start it. PLEASE let me know if this help anyone at all Thanks

Ok so on my way from Fort Myers to Miami with my brother, this happened and my brother had no idea what to do, as he's only had this car for about 2 weeks. I looked online and found this, I did it and it works! Makes a woman look/feel pretty good when she "fixes" a guys car lol thanks man, I really appreciate it. And so does my brother, he was already calling the insurance companies AND the dealer. P.S - we were stuck at the gas station for about an hour as well

This just happened to me! I'm a girl and not a mechanic girl but I know cars! I own a 2012 Challenger Redline. So here is the deal! It's simple! Car thinks it's still running once it cranks and shuts off but it's not because it shut off. So now all you have to do is tap the start button turning it off which puts it in auxiliary mode. ( the mode where you can still listen to the radio or roll down the windows but the engine isn't running) *NOTE- You can open and shut the doors all you want but until it resets from this weird auxiliary mode it won't start. Make sure you have the radio on. So just wait until the radio shuts off on its own as it normally would if you sit in the car too long. I have mine set for 5 mins. Once the radio shuts off, I hit and held the start button and it started! If you think about it like you are normally getting in and out of the car any other time! I freaked out and was about to call everybody I knew but then I figured out what was going on computer wise with the car! I don't know why it did that. All I can figure was I got in and out of the car in a very short time went from one store to another and it kinda weirded out. But I don't know! I'm home now and happy! I hope this helps!
