Power steering stops working and lost power to dash what can cause this?

What is your question?

I changed the alternator and then the battery everything seemed fine took it around the block and was almost back home and then lost everything on my dash which was beeping but don't know what was beeping because the dash had no power and I lost power steering but the car was still running.

What makes this problem better or worse?
