My battery light is blinking

(1991 Saturn SC)
The engine light is blinking but the battery cables are attached and appear to have a clean connection. The battery is barely 2 years old, it is a 2 door automatic. Any ideas out there?

if the engine light is blinking it means the car is trying to give you a code observe the light and count how many times it flashes it should stop with a small pause then flash again, if the flashes 3 times then it pauses your first number is 3 write down to code and look it up and reply here.
