My 96 tracker overheats only I’m on freeway it’s not leaking fans are working

If fans are truly working and coolant is circulating, ensure all air pockets are purged from the cooling system. Are hoses all hot when the engine is running at operating temperature? Be careful checking! If there is an internal engine coolant leak for some reason, it could cause some overheating, but this isn't where I would start from. A usually good quick test is to smell the coolant in the reservoir with the car off and cold. Does it smell like engine exhaust? If so, you could have an internal engine coolant leak.
