What is your question?
Hello There - I got an issue with my 2017 GLE 350 that has about 20K mileages on it. Recently I heard weird noise (ticking noise) when I am driving on low gears (D2 and D3), and the noise is gone when it's over D4 or D5 typically. It started about 2~3 weeks ago, and it is getting louder (passengers recognized it on my car by themselves now). My question is 1) if there are anyone else having same issue on the GLE 350 or similar cars, and 2) if it mostly comes from Transmission or Engine, and what causes this most likely? I'd appreciate it if anyone can help on this. Thank you in advance.

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. So sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. The ticking noise from your GLE350 in low gears could be related to several factors. It might be a transmission issue, particularly with the lower gears (D2 and D3). Transmission components can wear down or develop issues like improper fluid levels or internal damage, leading to unusual sounds. Another possibility is that the noise comes from other drivetrain components and is related to speed, not just the gear. Since it's becoming more noticeable and louder, it's best to have it checked soon to avoid further damage.
