my subaru is making a 'whinning' noise coming from left rear when at speeds around 60mph, when you let off gas, it makes the most whine noise, like something needs to be oiled? makes noise more when weather is hotter?

Your Subaru is 4WD, check for signs of leakage at the rear differential, top up oil if required. I have seen the rear wheel bearings go bad. Check the tire on the left rear see if it could even be unusual tire wear causing the sound but you will probably find it is a bad wheel bearing.
