My water pump failed and knocked out the alternator. I was driving down the road and steam started pouring out of engine, no engine service lights came on at all. I was a block from dealership so I took it there. They told that the water pump failed and took out alternator. Repair cost was $1400. They said I have a power steering leak but that I wold have to bring back to have it diagnosed for additional fee.
