What is your question?
car is a 2000 Z8 was left in the garage for many months.. The battery has died before but my NOCO booster would boost it from under the hood. Now even with a fully charged NOCO booster which has been great before....I can't even get the key to turn and the stearing wheel is locked and only jiggles a bit
What makes this problem better or worse?
nothing seems to have any energy even with the booster attached
How long has your 2000 BMW Z8 had this problem?

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. Since your Z8 has been sitting with a dead battery for months, the steering wheel lock and ignition key could be stuck due to a lack of power or mechanical wear in the ignition components. Even though you're using a booster, the battery may be too drained to hold any charge, preventing the ignition system from functioning. First, try replacing or fully recharging the battery to ensure enough power to unlock the steering and turn the key. You can also try turning the steering wheel left or right while gently wiggling the key to see if that frees up the ignition lock. If it still doesn't budge, you might be dealing with a faulty ignition lock cylinder or steering lock solenoid, which could require professional assistance. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
