Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! So your Ram is stubborn and doesn't want to cooperate, huh? If your Ram 1500 8-speed is shifting poorly, especially when cold, and resetting adaptives and changing fluid only helps temporarily, it could be due to a few issues. Common causes include a faulty transmission control module (TCM), dirty or malfunctioning solenoids, or internal transmission wear. Since the problem persists despite fluid changes and resets, it's best to have a professional mechanic or a dealership perform a thorough diagnostic to pinpoint and address the root cause.
