P/S fluid leaked really bad couldn't keep it filled. Replaced the both the hose and pump. Also, rack pinion is making a whinning sound and difficult to turn. Computer light for variable steering is on.
power steering started leaking really slow for a about a year then out of the blue a couple weeks ago i could keep power steering fluid in it. High pressure line
Had slow power steering leak for about year and a half. ...couple days ago just stopped being able to turn the wheel and fluid leaks immediately
The rack and pinion and new power steering pump has been replaced about a year ago. The weather got colder and the power steering was totally stiff, even after the car warmed up.
I have notice fliud leakage underneath car on right side underbody cheked out powerstreeing resevior and it was bone dry.
Power steering fluid was leaking. I could not keep fluid in it. I took it to a mechanic and they said it was the Power Steering Return Hose. I looked online and the part was way cheaper than they estimated the cost would be. They wanted to charge 340 to replace a $23 part. I do believe with the hose leaking caused my power steering pump to burn out.
