What is your question?
My 2015 Lexus NX200T 89,000 miles was towed from a highway yesterday. Mechanic's diagnostic codes show P0087-00 and P107A-2a. (low fuel pressure). He said it looks like its the hight pressure fuel pump, a $3600 part. He suggested towing it to a Lexus dealer which I just did. Too soon to hear from. them but the first mechanic showed me on his software that the part was subject to a very large Toyota and Lexus recall in 2020 though I did not receive a recall for my car . The first mechanic cleared/reset the codes and the car was immediately drivable though we only went around the block. Lexus just called and said that they can't diagnose anything since the codes were reset. Any suggestions would be very much welcome.
How long has your 2015 Lexus NX200t had this problem?
Just yesterday- car started backing , slowed down and stopped. Mechanic c cleared the error codes and not started working again.

Hello, first - there may be extended warranty coverage -- even if not a "recall" -- on this component; indeed, your dealership is in the best position to assist. And second -- yes, if someone tampers with data, such as clearing the code, you'll have to start from the beginning again and road test / drive the vehicle until the failure occurs again, so testing and data extraction can be performed by the Lexus personnel to determine the root cause of failure and submit needed information to Lexus in the event there is a chance of warranty coverage. I know this is frustrating, but you cannot rush to judgement on cause of failure. It would not be good if repairs were made that did not resolve your concern, therefore testing must be performed to find out what's happening, and duplication of the concern by a technician may be necessary.
