I am 72 years old and due to health problems COPD for one,living on fixed S.S. income. Live in Pensacola, FL. I need the cheapest and best help to repair this problem! Is the ONE decent person out here to help me

just bypass the heater core until you save enough money for the repair. you have the wrong vehicle for your current situation; repairs will eat you alive. it is not a matter of "ONE decent person" helping you, downgrading to something more reliable/cheaper to repair is the issue.
are you sure you need a new heater core?is it leaking on the floor or fogging up the windshield?if it is then like overby said,bypass it.look for the 2 heater hoses heading into the firewall and pull them off.connect them with any pipe made of plastic or steel and clamp it.yes you will loose all heat its to bad i dont live near you cause i would come help you out.if it's not leaking on the floor or fogging up the windshield then it may just need back flushed which is easily done with a garden hose.
