having trouble starting, acts like its flooded have to hold gas peddle to floor to get it to start not sure if getting to much gas or not enough gas when starting

it wants to start but then it shuts off, but if you hold gas peddle to floor it will start.

What makes this problem better or worse?

it has just started getting colder so that could be some of it, my first winter with car

How long has your 2005 Ford Freestyle had this problem?

just about a week, only couldn't start it once
