grinding noise

What is your question?

there was a grinding noise in the motor and the oil gauge went up to 80. When I shut it off, I couldn't get it started again but the grinding noise was still there. After 5 minutes of waiting, I finally got the motor to turn over. Our mechanic cannot find a problem as it does not make the noise now. Afraid to take in on the road. Please help.
