Getting ticking sound from engine area,after driving home from work this morning

(1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500)

after driving home for 40 miles truck was making loud ticking noise,i turned engine off and restarted it,the ticking noise wasn't as loud but was still there,,any suggestions is appreciated has always,,,,,,

this could be a/c regulator assembly it wears down cause that belt runs when ur motor is running makes no difference if a/c is on or off. sounds like a lifter or a valve no worries not mechanical 64.00 no labor I was back on the road.
