Generator guage went to 110

(2002 Dodge Ram 3500 Van)
Dodge Ram Van 3500. I've been noticing a squeaking coming from the serpentine belt; from one of the pulleys. Today the generator guage went from 14 to 110. The alert beep sounded. Probably a dumb question, but does this mean the generator is going bad?
What seems to make the problem better or worse? Cold weather.
How long have you had this problem? A couple of weeks.

Hello,
If the gauge went from 14 to 11, the alternator either failed, or the serpentine belt broke.

If the belt broke, check to see if one of the pulleys are seized. That will probably tell you what the squeak was.
