Gear selector light in Reverse while car is in Park linked to no ignition?

No bad codes. When you put car in park, the indicator light shows R. Always starts when cold; after engine warms up and it is turned off, key ignition doesn't engage starter. All other electrical components work with ignition on. I hear a persistent buzz in instrument area of dash when car is cold when key is turned on until I start the car. There is just a very short 1--2sec. buzz when the car is hot, and key will not engage the starter.
