Gas smell where you put in gas

Hello, if the smell is localized and goes away, it could be incidental. You could also have some kind of fuel gap leak, fuel filler neck leak, or tank, line or seal leak. You would likely experience a check engine light if there was a leak though, because the evaporative emissions system would be failing to pressurize the system as needed. Hands on evaluation is needed.
