Gas smell in garage from 2000 Montero

I just had my differential repaired. After picking it up from the mechanic I noticed a gasoline smell in the garage the next morning. I shrugged it off and the car drove fine but the next morning the smell was back. I have not driven it since. The gasoline smell has only been happening recently since it came back from the mechanic.
