Is $950.00 to replace fuel pump on a 2004 GMC Yukon XL pretty reasonable? I've gotten estimates that range from $700 to $1200. Why can't anyone just quote the correct price at the start?

If you seem to be getting different estimates here's why- (in the form of many questions..) What is the shops' labor rate? What store are they getting the parts from? The Dealer? Napa? Auto Zone? Pep boys? How much is that shop marking up their parts to make a profit? You're going to get so many diferrent prices due to competition, warranty, quality of work, quality of parts, and even experience.
You can check that estimate here www.repairpal.com/estimator The stock pumps cost more than the aftermarket that's why there is a big range
My calculation is that a replacement fuel pump would cost $889.00 with a 1 year warranty. Please call me and we give you a second opinion at charge. Call Ernie @ 972-221-5678
