Follow up on truck not starting

For Roy - Thanks for the input, How do I know if it is the relay switch and not the reset button is there a test to check if the relay switch is engaging when truck is first started. And also can is there a way to check if the fuel pump is working. I've heard a few different ideas to try for both issues, for the relay switch I was told to turn key on but not start truck and listen for click in fuse box and also for fuel pump I was told to turn key on and take gas cap off & listen for motor type noise to run and also to hit bottom of fuel tank with rubber malet to get brushes inside to start.Can you tell me if you know of any of this info. to be correct.
