Hello, The filter "per se" is located at the very bottom of the fuel pump. It looks like two long but not that wide tea bags and they are semi-rigid. With age and bad gas, these can get clogged which can cause the fuel pump to age prematurely as well. It is a very simple process to pull out the fuel pump and replace either the filters OR the entire fuel pump. You pull the rear seat, remove the weather cover for the fuel sending unit, remove the bolts on top of the fuel tank and disconnect the wires to the fuel pump as well as the hoses to the fuel pump. Lift up the fuel pump assembly gently as it will still be full of some fuel. If anything needs replacing, do not forget to replace the O-ring seal on the top of the fuel tank as well.
