Excessive cranking time before starting

(1995 Saab 9000)

occasionally takes 8 to 15 seconds of cranking before engins starts. Installed new battery 3 weeks ago. This"fault" started over a year ago, it doesen't happen very often.

I t is most likely your fuel pump check valve.A new fuel pump check valve should cost about $12 and can be replaced in about 15 minutes.
