There are a few different types of parking brakes, but they are all actuated in the same way. When either of the factors occur, the technician must visibly and hands-on inspect the parking brake assembly at the wheels or at the lever, and identify the cause of malfunction. When the brakes are out of adjustment but otherwise perform properly, the technician will advise adjustment before any other work is performed.
