What is your question?
When stopping, RPMs jump above and below the normal range before settling, and then often dip to an almost stall while running. I recently replaced the upper and lower intake gaskets. Unable to find any damaged hoses that would cause a vacuum leak.

I can think of several things that would cause the symptoms you describe. You didn't say whether you had the problem before you replaced the intake gaskets. I assume you replaced the gaskets because you had the problem at that time. If you got the problem after you replaced the gaskets, then I suspect a vacuum leak and you need to recheck your work. Either way, I'd check for vacuum leaks into the intake, using a smoke machine or propane or carb spray, at least. A good diagnostic technician would have a smoke machine. You don't say whether the check engine light is on, but if it is, there are data and diagnostic codes stored that would probably lead you to the problem. A technician with a scanner could access codes and data for you. Typically, erratic idle could be caused by carboned-up throttle body, an airflow sensor (MAF) that's out of calibration due to a defect or dirt. It could be caused by a sticking exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve. Thank you for the reply. I didn't have a CEL for some time... until today. P0300 Random/ Multiple cylinder misfire. Ive recently cleaned the throttle body, and I was actually on the phone with a mechanic to look for a smoke machine, when the CEL came on. Now I just need to figure out if it is actually a misfire, or the EGR (Which I have read about), or other. If a misfire, which cylinder. Good times. Any other info would be appreciated.
If you almost Stall while running, First Change your EGR valve... that's first !! Engine misfire 0300 is random cylinder 0301 for 1st cylinder 0302 for second, etc... Recheck your Intake Manifold Gasket if you put it the right side... (yes there<s a side to install it) read mazda manual guide 2003... if not there<s possibiily a leak between the head and the manifold just check it out ; test: take a glass of water and when your engine is hot, spit a line of water between the intake and the motor just look if your hear a vaccum sound... if water goes into the motor then replace your intake gasket manifold. !
