What is your question?
I got a message on my dash that the engine was overheating but the thermostat on my dash was pointing towards "C" I thought it was weird that the thermostat said it was cold because I had been driving for about twenty minutes. I pulled over and turned it off for ten minutes and then it seemed fine but my engine light came on.

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! If your Dart is showing an overheating warning but the temperature gauge is pointing to "C," it sounds like your thermostat might be stuck open or there's an issue with the engine's temperature sensor. A stuck thermostat would keep coolant flowing constantly, making the engine think it’s cold while still overheating. The check engine light could be related to a faulty sensor or another cooling system issue. I’d recommend getting it checked out quickly—especially since you got the overheating message, which could signal bigger problems down the road.
