2001 xj, oil leaks that needed repair are valve cover, rear main seal and oil filter seals.
Major leak from valve cover gasket. Replaced it.
oil leaking out of pan seal
engine is leaking oil from oil pan it looks like and it sounds like it has the exaust problem
Vehicle recently purchased as "summer project" from a friend, quick assessment found a fair amount of oil seepage around pan gasket and a little on the valve cover gasket as well.
leaks repaired when engine was rebuilt

Minor oil pan leak, no repair done
Leaking like mad around oil pan. replaced seal twice.
i replaced the gasket and no relief then i replace the oil cap that did it
Oil constantly leaking. Went to repair shop they said it was a valve problem. $130 to repair.
