I get engine knock noise between 16000 and 2000 rpms, as I speed up it goes away.Please advise on what could cause this.

Customer Concern: Has an engine noise during deceleration of engine. Sounds like the timing chain hitting the cover. Can duplicate the noise by revving the motor and releasing the throttle. Tests/Procedures: 1. Check the oil quality and level. 5w30 is the recommended viscosity. 2. This will require disassembly of the engine to inspect the timing chain guides for wear. If the chain guides look good the tensioned could be faulty. Potential Causes: Engine Oil Level Engine Oil Viscosity Timing Chain — Timing chain tensioned. Timing Chain Guides Tech Tips: There have also been cases of these engines having worn timing chain guides.
