What is your question?
Hi, I had this seal replaced about three years ago and it started leaking again last year. Had it replaced again at a chevy dealer again just over a year ago and they are now out of business. My brother is a mechanic and he replaced a few weeks ago and again its starting to leak. He said he tightened it up as much as could but doesnt want to damage bearing. Noticed that assembly had play before replaced and when complete everything was tight, a few weeks later leaking again and assembly has some play, we are going to take shaft out and try to tighten more if it allows without doing bearing damage. rear end shows know signs of scarring or damage that would allow fluid to leak out. Is it common to have to tighten down on these seals? do they take a few weeks to seat? we are very confused-any advise/help would be very appreciated. Thanks, Bill

Did you pull the axle shaft out and look for unusual signs of wear? Has the vehicle slid and hit something hard with the rear wheel that might have impacted the hub? Try jacking up just that wheel and blocking the rest front and back (for safety)and with the engine running and brake on, put it in drive. Then slowly release the brake so that the wheel is rotating. Go back and observe whether there is any oscillating in or out or up and down. Assuming your tires, wheels and brake drums are round and balanced, it should be a bent axle. I have had the same experince with warped wheels. Good luck, Kevin
