Problem overview

Some Jeep Wrangler owners report experiencing starting issues where the vehicle fails to engage in Park and does not start in that position. This can occur if the peg is not properly engaged in the transmission, which may also lead to the vehicle rolling unintentionally. Additionally, some owners notice that if all gear indicators are lit up orange, the dash indicates the Jeep isn't in Park, and the start/stop button remains in RUN, repeatedly pushing the start/stop button may eventually allow them to turn off and start the Jeep correctly. These symptoms can leave owners stranded, but persistence with the start/stop button can sometimes resolve the issue.
