Cruise is disabled when tires slip, but my car doesn’t have traction control.

Just curious, but tonight I was driving and was going up a hill and the tires started to lose traction and the cruise control cut the power and tried again to accelerate and detected wheel slip and it tried multiple times to regain traction just like traction control would do and then it was completely and automatically shutoff by the car. But I was just confused because my car doesn’t have traction control, stability control or ABS or any of that. I have a 2006 mazda 3. I’m thinking maybe it’s been turned off scince I have got it from its original owner? But there is not a button for any of that.
