cruise controls stops working

What is your question?

Why would the cruise control quit working off and on at 36,000 miles? It won't turn on, then 15 miles down the road when you push the button it starts working. Why would this be?

I had the same problem and I took my z71 2007 SUBURBAN to my mechanic and he replace the BRAKE LIGHT SWITHC and it's now working perfectly.

I had the same problem with my Z71 2007 SUBURBAN and all my mechanic did was to replace the BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH and its now working PERFECT !!!

My cruise control light will turn off/on but will not engage. I keep hearing it's tied to the 3rd brake light. Is this the same brake light switch they replaced?
