my cruise control is going crazy. it speeds up to 90 and then when it is set at 70 it starts to drop itself down to 50 and then back up to 70. what is wrong with it?

Oh my god....mine does that to....if I have it set on 60 out of the blue it will take off to 70....I have no clue why its doing this my truck is just like urs but its a 1997....if u find out let me know and ill do the same
