cruise control

There was a HUGE recall affecting numerous Ford/Mercury models with regards to the cruise control. I would FIRST check to see if your car is affected with the VIN and Ford, next check fuses, and unfortunately, there a lot of other things that affect the cruise. The controls on the steering wheel, the switch by the brake pedal, the cruise module, the fuses, the cruise module cable. Check the cables around the throttle body. I think this year has the 5.0 fuel injected right? It may be the cut off year. Either way, check and tug at the cable coming out of the cruise module. It may be the quickest and easiest to check.
