Clicking Noise from Wheel Area While Car is Moving on Ford Edge

Problem Description and Possible Solution

Excessive clearance between the plastic wheel cladding and the wheel can cause a clicking noise from the wheel area while the car is moving. If the plastic cladding is loose, the wheel will need to be replaced.

Front left tire, getting worse everyday. Worried to let my wife drive it. Happens when driving slow and making turns in parking lots, entering driveway, etc. Read all kinds of forums and analysts have said everything from the CV joint to issues with the wheels. Of course, car is just 8 months out of warranty. Also starting to have issues with the acceleration and skipping. I loved this car, but now starting to get all kinds of little things going wrong with it. Car has been babied and don't want to get into a newer model for more money. Anybody who has had this problem fixed, would love to get a diagnosis and rough costs to fix
I have a clicking noise in the passenger side front wheel area. Especially while turning.
Same problem, I'm making a left hand turn and the noise starts and proceeds while accelerating. Noise is only on the passenger side and does not happen when I make a right hand turn.
I notice the clicking sound in the summer when I have my windows down. It has made that noise ever since I have owned the vehicle, which is now two years. I have taken it to tire shops, and they can't find anything wrong.
Wheel clicking noise with 20" chrome clad wheels
Happens during acceleration and has gotten worse over time. Had the front checked out by mechanic. and found no problem. Sounds like the cladding prob
When making left turns wheel pops. Sounds like something is going to break. It was faint but getting worse.
I have the this problem since the day I bought the car. Still no resolution...still clicks when moving
i have a noise coming from front wheels when car is moving what coul it be and how much to fix
clicking sound when turning....
Clicking noise from left front wheel when driving
Clicking noise coming from tire when making a turn.
Clicking sound while driving coming from front passenger wheel. Happens driving straight -- stops when brakes are applied but resumes with any acceleration. My Edge has relatively low mileage (53k on 2009 model). Tires are less than 2 years old. I'm at the dealership now crossing my fingers!
Same here but vCard joints are ok they say
Clicking sounds when going forward only
The problem is likely the plastic cladding on outside of wheel (hubcap), I had to dig my heels in to get it fixed but eventually Ford replaced mine with newer style wheels and problem was gone. You can test by installing your winter tires on new wheels if problem goes away then you know where the problem is.
Noisy but not a safety concern.
Clicking/grinding Noise from Wheel Area While Car is Moving on Ford Edge Front right tire area. Replaced brake pads and calipers to no avail. Happens when driving slow and making turns in parking lots, entering driveway, etc.
This noise started about 1 yr after I got it the front passenger wheel keeps making this noise like clicking or something replaced 3 wheel bearings in 6 months still have this noise checked all things out but can't understand what's causing this had tires rotated still the same I'm a school bus driver bus mechanic has done everything but still the noise can't figure it out
Took to big star ford and they said it was from bad repair done after wreak repaired at the same dealer. If they fix I would have to pay for it because they had bought the previous dealer out and they were not responsible
sound like there is a plastic bag stuck on the tire goes away at high speeds
