Mildew smell coming out of HVAC. The passenger vents also blow cold are when the heater is on. I'm not sure where the smell is coming from, but the smell is similar to an electric smell I had in the truck when my alternator started to go bad at 70K miles.
the dealer did a cleaning for $326 there was a very bad old car smell coming out of the vents
A musty evaporation come from the HCAC vents when the car has been running for a little while and continues even after the engine has been shut down
Purchased this recently. though it may need a new cabin filter but evidently they didn't make one for the Gen 2 Durango. When we turn the vent on the smell is really musty and foul smelling. After running it for about 15 minutes it will start to go away. Smell is always there when we first turn on the vent, defrost, etc.
When the '2004 Dodge Durango sits for over a day or two in the summertime my vehicle sometimes smells like vomit and/or cat urine and the smell does come from the front and rear AC vents!
I began noticing a musty mildew smell in my vehicle. No matter what i did to try to correct the problem, it kept getting worse. I will seek a solution through dodge!
moldy smell from A/C vents when first turned on after sitting a couple of hours or longer. Changed cabin filter. Did not solve problem!
