Check Engine Light Due to EVAP System Fault on Toyota Land Cruiser

Problem Description and Possible Solution

The Check Engine Light may illuminate due to an evaporative emission (EVAP) system fault. Our technicians tell us these EVAP system faults can be difficult to diagnose but it is not uncommon to find a failed charcoal canister or a loose or worn gas cap.

My 2011 Landcruiser fails the EVAP test regularly. The dash lights up. 'Check VSC System' appears in the center display. The check engine light comes on, the stability control override light comes on and the 4LO light blinks.

My dealer has searched throughout the emissions system for a leak and keeps coming back to the gas cap, which has been replaced twice.
Just put 4 new tires on, got front end aligned - then smoothly cruising down road - stopped at store - started it up - Check engine light was on - no issues - runs smooth - but light stayed on - stopped for 20 minutes - started it up & drove home - runs smooth but CEL stayed on
