check engine light

My 2008 XL7 check engine light came on after I purchased it 2 weeks ago. I checked the carfax on it and everything was "supposedly" checked throughly and given the green light. I noticed about a week after I bought that I was burning more gas than I should especially when the air conditioner is running. Then all of a sudden the check engine light comes on. Could it be the O2 Sensor?

there are over 1500 codes in the system. you need to have it checked. do you have a 30 day warranty?? Roy
