On July 23, 2014, Cadillac recalled 124,007 Cadillac ELR. General motors llc (gm) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 buick encore and cadillac ats; 2014 cadillac cts, elr, chevrolet caprice and ss vehicles; and 2014-2015 chevrolet silverado and gmc sierra trucks. due to an incomplete weld on the seat hook bracket assembly, the front seats in the affected vehicles may not stay secured in place during a high load condition such as a crash.

The front seats may not stay secure to the vehicle in the event of a high load or an accident. This can cause risk of occupant injury.

Recalls on your General Motors vehicle must be performed by a General Motors dealership. General Motors began notifying owners of affected vehicles in August, 2014. If you did not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local General Motors dealerships. They will also check for any other uncompleted recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The General Motors recall number is 14340.
