your front pads may be worn all the way down......take it apart ... replace pads if needed... get the rotors cut (resurface only if withing spec) or replace them make sure the rears are good too if drums adjust them up via the hole in the backing plate . this should greatly improve breaking .. make sure you check all the vacuum lines going to the power assist booster and makes sure you have sufficient vacuum
