What is your question?
My mechanic recommends a brake flush on my car has only 30,000 miles. Is this necessary or is a brake bleed more appropriate. My brakes function just fine.

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! At 30,000 miles, a brake flush might not be strictly *necessary* if your fluid is in good shape, but it’s not a bad idea. Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time, which can lower its boiling point and lead to internal corrosion. Lexus recommends inspecting brake fluid periodically, but many shops suggest flushing it every 30,000 miles or 2-3 years as preventative maintenance. A brake bleed, on the other hand, is usually done after repairs, like replacing brake components, to remove air from the system—not for routine upkeep. If your brakes feel solid and the fluid isn’t dark or dirty, you could hold off on the flush. But if it’s been a few years, it’s a solid investment in long-term braking performance.
