On June 14, 2017, BMW recalled 92 BMW 740Li. Bmw of north america, llc (bmw) is recalling certain 2013-2015 740i, 740li, 740lxi, 750i, 750xi, 750li and 750lxi and 2014 activehybrid 7 vehicles. the affected vehicles may have received incorrect replacement left rear taillight assemblies. as such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."

The left rear tail light assembly as installed on the vehicle may be incorrect. This could cause the left rear lamp to be less noticeable to other drivers, possibly resulting in an accident.

Recall repairs on your BMW must be performed by a BMW dealership. BMW will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in August, 2017. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local BMW dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.

On vehicles equipped with an 8 or 12 cylinder turbocharged engine, the circuit board for the electric water pump may overheat. This could lead to an electrical fire under the hood.

BMW will notify owners of affected vehicles during November 2011. If you are experiencing a burning smell from under the hood, or you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It's helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) when you call.
