Battery Light Due to Damaged Alternator Connector on Ford F-150

Problem Description and Possible Solution

The battery light may illuminate on the instrument panel because the alternator wire harness connector is damaged. A new connector kit is available and should be installed to correct this concern.

I have a 2004 F150 my battery light n it also says check power system. Now I changed alternator still I had the problem then I got a optima battery. My radio started going on and off and dashpanel shut down then comes back on. So now I'm going to try the alternator harness connector n wires. Casuse its sayin check power system. So please someone let me know is this the problem?
alternator caught on fire at the wireing arness connector! after replaceing supposed batteries and altenators several times i found a recall on my truck no one owner ever address.. it being the connector--this could have killed me even when the truck was not running it ws possible to start on fire-got the recall address and bno further problems
Battery light came on then alternater plug caught on fire. It happened last week and I haven't repaired it yet because I am still trying to figure out the best way to proceed from here, looking for recall Info etc..
The truck sat for years sheltered.. The alternator was clicking. Replaced and were given the info on the bad connector wires. No problems since.
Was driving down the road and smelled something burning alternator tested good and battery tested good
